Calcutta High Court, Office of the District Judge, Howrah has issued a
notification for recruitment to 59 posts of English Stenographer, Lower
Division Clerk, Process Server & Group D posts in the Judgeship of
Howrah.Candidates may submit application on prescribed format on or
before 22nd December 2015.

Scale of Pay:
- English Stenographer : PB-3 Rs. 7100-37600/- with Grade Pay Rs.3900/-
- Lower Division Clerk : PB-2 Rs. 5400-25200/- with Grade Pay Rs.2600/-
- Process Server (Summons Bailiff) : PB-2 Rs. 5400-25200/- with Grade Pay Rs.2300/-
- Group D : PB-I Rs. 4900-16200/- with Grade Pay Rs.1700/-
Age Limit : Candidate's age should be of minimum 18 years and
maximum 40 years as on 1st January 2015.Relaxation in upper age limit
will be given to SC/ST category for five years and three years for OBC
candidates.
Education Qualification:
(i) English Stenographer: Candidate must have passed in Madhyamik or Equivalent examination from any recognized Board.Candidate should have a certificate in computer training from a recognized institution and have a satisfactory fingering speed in computer operation. A minimum speed @ 80 w.p.m in shorthand and a minimum speed @ 30 w.p.m in typewriting from a legible manuscript in English for 10 minutes is required.
(ii) Lower Division Clerk: Candidate must have passed Madhyamik or Equivalent examination from any recognized Board.Candidate should have knowledge in computer operation.
(iii) Group D (Process Server, Peon, Day Guard, Night Guard, Farash) : Candidate must have passed eighth standard from any recognized Board.Candidate should have knowledge in computer operation.
(iv) Group D (Sweeper): Candidate must have passed eighth standard from any school under any recognized Board.

Selection Process : Selection process will consist of Dictation & Transcription, General English & Typing Test for English Stenographer posts and Written Examination & Personality test for other posts.
Application Fee : Application fee charges are :- (i) Rs.400 for all posts payable by General & others categories. (ii) Rs.50 for English Stenographer, Lower Division Clerk posts payable by Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe. (iii) Rs.25 Process Server, Peon, Night Guard, Day Guard, Farash and Sweeper posts payable by Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe.Fee should be pay by Bank Draft issued by any Bank payable at Howrah in favour of the CHAIRMAN, DISTRICT RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE, HOWRAH & DISTRICT JUDGE, HOWRAH.
